The TMYS no longer hides in the shadow of the nearby Guynemer Memorial once darkness falls. Both memorials now illuminated, stand side by side in perpetuity.

The British tank D29 DAMON II was knocked out in the vicinity of where the nearby
Café De Zwaan was later constructed on conclusion of the war. The café can be seen in the above right image, immediately behind and to the right of both the unique George Guynemer & the tank itself.

On conclusion of the war, the tank was recovered from its muddy grave and moved to where the TMYS stands today and became a village attraction.
In 1941 the Germans smelted the tank for their own war effort.
